WELCOME!

Bienvenidos a la Mision Chile Santiago Norte! We love the Savior, and are blessed to be part of this great work, to share His gospel, and invite others to come unto Him. We are grateful to have this incredible opportunity to associate with such fine young men and women and other couples who are serving in this wonderful part of the vineyard. We decided to share this mission through a blog, with any who would like to know more.... All of the lessons, talks, training, conferences, and meetings are obviously done totally in Spanish, but for the sake of this writer, the notes are here in English, for speed in typing, and therefore, mixed with a bit of both worlds. We hope all of our missionaries, families, and loved ones can enjoy this blog, in spite of the writing, grammar, language, errors, etc. This will be a miraculous journey, and we invite you to share and enjoy it with us.

Lovingly, con cariño,
Presidente Michael May

Election Day in Chile,

Yesterday was a special day for Chile. Because of the democracy that exists here in this blessed country, they were able to hold a free election in which the people had the opportunity to vote for their candidate of choice. It brought to mind the 12th Article of Faith that states:

12 We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.

With a new president being elected, all of Chile now has the responsibility to support him.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is guided by living prophets and apostles who receive revelation from God. God calls individuals to positions of leadership and service through revelation. We have the opportunity as Church members to sustain and support our leaders. As we do so we show the depth of our testimony and our true understanding of the Gospel. In Hebrews 13:17 we read:

17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

As we support and respect those assigned as district leaders, zone leaders and assistants to the president, the Lord will bless us with His spirit. Preach My Gospel teaches us that we should also seek to learn from our leaders, and invite them to suggest ways we can improve.

I have a strong testimony that the Lord puts people in our paths to bless us and help us accomplish all He has sent us to do. As we are humble and teachable and not only accept the counsel of our leaders but also seek their guidance and direction when needed, we will be blessed with greater faith to bring salvation to Heavenly Father´s children. Our ability to find those that the Lord has prepared, teach the gospel of faith unto repentance, be baptized for the remission of sins, receive the precious gift of the Holy Ghost and help individuals to endure to the end will be greatly strengthened as we sustain and support our leaders.

We love you and are grateful for your dedication to the Lord,
