WELCOME!

Bienvenidos a la Mision Chile Santiago Norte! We love the Savior, and are blessed to be part of this great work, to share His gospel, and invite others to come unto Him. We are grateful to have this incredible opportunity to associate with such fine young men and women and other couples who are serving in this wonderful part of the vineyard. We decided to share this mission through a blog, with any who would like to know more.... All of the lessons, talks, training, conferences, and meetings are obviously done totally in Spanish, but for the sake of this writer, the notes are here in English, for speed in typing, and therefore, mixed with a bit of both worlds. We hope all of our missionaries, families, and loved ones can enjoy this blog, in spite of the writing, grammar, language, errors, etc. This will be a miraculous journey, and we invite you to share and enjoy it with us.

Lovingly, con cariño,
Presidente Michael May

Jesus was "Prepared and Willing"

In Lesson 2 of Chapter 3 of Preach My Gospel we read that “when the Father asked His beloved Son to pay the price for the world´s sins, Jesus was “prepared and willing”. The Savior paid the price for our sins which is something that we could not and cannot do for ourselves. The Savior did not take away our personal responsibility to be “prepared and willing” to accept Him, repent, and obey His commandments. The definition of being prepared is to make ready beforehand for some purpose, use, or activity.” Our preparation to accept Him, repent, and obey His commandments comes from through sincere personal prayer, studying the essential doctrines, principles, and commandments of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and developing Christ like attributes in our lives. As we do this with consistency on a daily basis our faith will wax strong and we shall not fear (D&C 38:30).

This preparation will provide the foundation by which we will wholeheartedly be willing to submit our will to the will of our Heavenly Father in all things. The Savior gave us a perfect example “Though He suffered beyond comprehension—so much so that He bled from every pore and asked whether it were possible that this burden be lifted from Him—He submitted to the Father’s will in a supreme expression of love for His Father and for us. (Preach My Gospel Lesson 2, The Plan of Salvation)

He later declared to the Nephites, “Behold, I am Jesus Christ, whom the prophets testified shall come into the world. And behold, I am the light and the life of the world; and I have drunk out of that bitter cup which the Father hath given me, and have glorified the Father in taking upon me the sins of the world, in the which I have suffered the will of the Father in all things from the beginning. Behold I have given unto you my gospel, and this is the gospel which I have given unto you—that I came into the world to do the will of my Father, because my Father sent me. (3 Nephi 11:10-11, 3 Nephi 27:13)

The Savior was not only prepared and willing but most important, He completed the Atonement. The Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ, completed all that His Heavenly Father sent Him to do. (Preach My Gospel Lesson 1 The Restoration)

We as missionaries have the opportunity each and every day to prepare ourselves spiritually through our own personal prayer, study of the essential doctrine of the gospel of Jesus Christ and development of Christ like attributes. This preparation will provide the strength to submit our will to the will of our Heavenly Father in all things so that we will complete all that our Heavenly Father has sent us to do here in the Chile Santiago North mission. What has He sent us to do here? He has sent us here to dedicate all of heart, might, mind and strength to bring many souls to salvation by inviting them to exercise faith in Jesus Christ unto repentance, be baptized for the remission of sin, receive the precious gift of the Holy Ghost, and endure to the end.

We feel it it a privilege to serve with you and we love each of you,
