WELCOME!

Bienvenidos a la Mision Chile Santiago Norte! We love the Savior, and are blessed to be part of this great work, to share His gospel, and invite others to come unto Him. We are grateful to have this incredible opportunity to associate with such fine young men and women and other couples who are serving in this wonderful part of the vineyard. We decided to share this mission through a blog, with any who would like to know more.... All of the lessons, talks, training, conferences, and meetings are obviously done totally in Spanish, but for the sake of this writer, the notes are here in English, for speed in typing, and therefore, mixed with a bit of both worlds. We hope all of our missionaries, families, and loved ones can enjoy this blog, in spite of the writing, grammar, language, errors, etc. This will be a miraculous journey, and we invite you to share and enjoy it with us.

Lovingly, con cariño,
Presidente Michael May
Hermana Carol May

Fotos, stories will be posted by permission ONLY

The following fotos and experiences will be shared by permission of the missionaries only. The names won't need to be posted, but you can see the experiences and evidence of what has happened here. When people talk of damages, we are blessed to not be speaking of extreme injuries or deaths in our mission to ANY of our missionaries. Of course we had plenty of "DAMAGE" to apartments, material items in the houses, etc, but compared to bodily injury, we are happy to report nothing serious. We are still making the rounds to assess the 'worldly' material losses, and to determine the livability of each apartment and make decisions. Everyone was without water and electricity initially, but most had it restored quite quickly. However there are still some in out lying areas with now power even now.

We had a few missionaries who said that they had a few minor cuts, scratches, bruises, and scrapes from walls, floor, bits of glass, etc, but relatively simple in comparison to deaths. One missionary had an old, wobbly, adobe wall around the garden area of his porch tip over on him as he was quickly exiting their apartment, in the pitch dark at 3:34am. He tells us that obviously he had angels helping to protect him, as it fell with its total weight on top of him, but he didn't hit his head, it broke into pieces all around him, and he was able to get to safety. His wonderful companion helped him to a neightbor, member's home, and the Bishop and wife brought him safely to the mission home, where he was treated and stayed the next day. He has a possible broken finger, scratches and bruises, but is healing miraculously. We had some missionaries who stepped on glass, and didn't get cut, others who ran down many flights of stairs, in total darkness and are still fine and healthy. We have asked the missionaries to write about their experiences and miracles so that they can remember them and give the Lord credit for their safety. We know that we have been protected and watched over, without a doubt.

  1. My daughter, Hermana Samantha Smith, is a missionary in the Concepcion Mission (San Carlos) and since their mission president does not have a blog I appreciate the chance to read yours. Even though all of us parents now know our children are safe, we are hungry for all the news we can get.

  3. Sister May,

My name is Eneyda Angel and I hope that you can remember me. I believe you were the Young Women President in Santa Clarita, CA when we met. I spent lots of time with you and your family and it was so hard when you moved away. Brother May was also my teacher at Hart High. I hope that writing to you here is okay. I came across your blog and I just had to write a little note in hopes that you will remember me. I will leave my e-mail address in case that you remember me and would like to write back. ebm_78@msn.com. I have such wonderful memories of you and your family. It is so wonderful to see that you're both well.
